Living in the past has cost me dear (Original Poem )

June 13, 2017

living in the past

Living in the past has cost me dear

In misery and despair it is all clear

Entangled in what could have been

The struggle goes on unseen

In chains a slave only knows

Linked in savage claws

Dragged at mercy, whipped to beggars’ doors

As impressions conditioned, mark all flaws

A life without Choice( Original Poem)

Written by Linzo

Asleep at  a spinning wheel,

I seem to care less for the inevitable spindle,

threatening my life like a constant shadow,

that haunts me in my choicelessness.

Deep down in my slumber,

I have built fantasies of freedom.

But how can I be free if I can’t choose?

Leading a scripted life at the mercy of the spindle,

I feel my absurdity in likening my life to a script.

But isn’t it time I faced the truth?

In hope that it will set me free!

Without spontaneity, there exists no life.

Can spontaneity be scripted?

One has to wonder, what I have been up to all along? Living a lie!
