Self Denial (Original Poem )

January 15, 2017

Written by @linzo

Hiding behind a smoke screen

In different shades of grey

Hazy beyond vision so keen

A frail figure lies at bay

Broken in pieces of self revolt

In a bid to deny the temporal display

No guaranteed safety in the bolt

Scenic hopelessness a running relay

Emergent like a butterfly from a cocoon

Flapping to feel its new adjustment

In patches lit by the full moon

To mark a long waited advent

Ripples of self generated beauty

A welcome loving embrace

Stirring up a grateful  bounty

In measures of humility and grace
