Death in Longing (Original Poem)

December 15, 2016

Within the chambers of my longing heart

Lies an empty silence likened to a hollow room

Where a canvas hangs in a sorry state

A blank canvas waiting for a new splash of paint

A splash that will adorn it with beauty

That has been forgotten in mid-air

As it hang in suspense of its power

To pick up the brush and adorn itself

A smooth kiss across the solitary canvas

Brush and canvas reunited momentarily

Gripped by a passionate creative fire

Pulsating in an evolutionary dance

Converging in a bitter sweet moment

A realisation of transitory nature of the dance

As the fire flickers to dusty ashes

A gentle reminder of death in longing
