Sprouted to Birth (Original Poem)

November 25, 2016

Written by @linzo

Oars beating hard at water’s edge

Scooping up everything in their wake

The journey is long and treacherous

No time to ponder bodily demands

So hungry and thirsty for a piece of myself

Pushing backwards and forwards fervently

Shoulders sheltering stress

Counting down each stroke to

Mark the year of reckoning

Down to five, a leap, a surge

Change in intensity inevitable

Vision clear, the goal conceived

An open calendar for conception

Tenderly evolving sprouts ready for spring

Beauty undeniable for the open eye

A bountiful feast for the un-tethered

Gratitude and farewells bend to my will

Metamorphosing into a new self

A complete rebirth
