The wind blows east, catching the tail end of a hurricane

Tempered by the coarse velocity at its bidding

Growling at everything in its wake

To create a safe passage at shutter’s door

Angry cries greet an ailing step

Into the depths of a squandering abyss

Past nightmares eked on crumbling walls

Blood stains for artistic accompaniment

Riddled with the illusions of time and space

Floored by traces on marked foot prints

A gentle nudge for one with a clear vision

Directions to a sweet homestead

For those who can hear the dawn chorus

Voracious appetites nurture my trail

Hunger deepened by mystery

Curiosity the only viable game

As I trust in the process
